AI Compass

Principles before predictions.
A living document on AI strategy.

This is an adaptive thought piece built in the spirit of the Agile Manifesto, not a product roadmap. It doesn't predict where AI is going. It tries to establish clear principles of thought that hold their shape even as the landscape shifts beneath them.

"There are two ways of constructing a software design: One way is to make it so simple that there are obviously no deficiencies, and the other way is to make it so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies. The first method is far more difficult."

Tony Hoare

That principle applies here. Every AI system, workflow, or strategy you add creates something someone has to understand, maintain, and govern. Complexity feels like thoroughness. It isn't. Each section is a stake in the ground and an honest attempt to clarify what's actually true right now and what the useful questions are. Not conclusions. Starting points.

Sections will be added as the thinking develops. Every entry is dated because the honest answer to most AI questions is "it depends when you're asking."

New to how AI works? These principles are easier to apply once you know what's happening inside the model. AI Fundamentals covers it in five short videos.

The sections

Automation vs Agentic

Both involve machines doing work without you watching every step. That's where the similarity ends. Which one you're actually running decides how you build, govern and recover when it breaks.
